Police beat Bugesera to maintain unbeaten run

Two goals in either side guided Police to another impressive 2-1 win over Bugesera on Day Eight of Rwanda Premier League on Tuesday.

Justin Mico and Savio Nshuti were on target to ensure that Police remains unbeaten and to climb back on top of the table with 18 points out of five wins and three draws. It was the second straight massive win for the law enforcers, who last week thumped AS Kigali 3-0 to keep hopes for their first silverware alive.

Mico seized the poor coordination and communication between Bugesera defence and their goalkeeper to put Police in the lead in the 32nd minute.

Several attempts to extend the lead were foiled by Bugesera goalie, but couldn't stop the count-attack in the 53rd minute, which saw the left winger Savio doubling the lead.

"It's a victory for players; they have worked hard for it. We have had best performance in last three games and secured seven points," Police coach Francis Haringingo, said.

He added: "They work hard for the best results everyday, their performance on the pitch is equally impressive."
